Every productivity app I tried felt the same. Bloated with features I didn't need, stripped of the personality that would make me want to open it every day. I wanted something that felt crafted. Something with a point of view. So I built it.
Flows started as a side project in late 2024. A simple Pomodoro timer paired with a weekly planner and a place to capture notes. No enterprise features, no team collaboration, no Gantt charts. Just a clear view of your day, a beautiful timer, a rich notes editor that lives right alongside your tasks, and the gentle accountability of a streak counter.
Then it grew. Not by adding everything, but by thinking harder about what was already there. Smart scheduling that respects difficulty levels. Five notification personalities, because "time to focus" gets old after the third time. A Someday list for ideas that aren't ready yet. A streak system that understands rest. Focus Forecast that previews your week every Monday morning. Natural language date parsing from your notes. Offline mode that just works.
What surprised me was how much the details mattered. The weight of a FLIP animation on task check-off. The warmth of a frosted glass surface. The exact moment a haptic fires when a session ends. These aren't superficial choices. They're the difference between a tool you tolerate and a tool you reach for.
What we believe
Craft over features
We'd rather do five things beautifully than fifty things adequately. Every interaction in Flows has been sweated over.
Focus is a feeling
Productivity isn't just about output. The right environment, visual, auditory, emotional, unlocks a different quality of work.
Respect your time
Onboarding takes seconds, not minutes. You're focusing within your first minute. If you need more, it's there. If you don't, it's out of the way.
Independent forever
Flows is bootstrapped and self-funded. No venture capital, no growth-at-all-costs pressure. We answer to the people who use the app.
Flows is a one-person project, and that's by design. It means every decision is intentional, every pixel is considered, and the app stays true to its original vision: a beautiful, focused place to plan your day, capture your ideas, and do your best work. From difficulty-aware scheduling to rich notes with date parsing to personality-driven notifications, every feature earns its place.
If that resonates with you, I'd love to have you along for the ride.
